You need to: Drink water so that the radiologist can see better. If they see less well then they could miss something.

Don't understand ?: You drink water for an ultrasound of the pelvis so that the bladder is full. This forms a good "window" for the ultrasound to go through to see your uterus, ovaries and other structures. Less water might mean less bladder filling and this might make the study harder or impossible to perform and interpret.
