Please define codeine dependency. how ugh per day means addiction?

It's not the mg/day: Maladaptive pattern of drug use, leading to clinically significant impairment shown by physical tolerance; withdrawal syndrome; taking larger amounts/over longer period than intended; unsuccessful efforts to cut down on use; spending much time in obtaining drug; giving up important social, work, & other activities to use; continued use despite known harm to health, important parts of life.
