Will cautious, sporadic use of fiorinal (aspirin butalbital and caffeine) w codeine (approx 10-20 caps per month, usually less, prn) inevitably lead to dependence?

Can lead to: dependence but not inevitably. Tolerance to opiates develops with chronic use and eventually requires higher doses to obtain same amount of relief. Plain fiorinal (aspirin butalbital and caffeine) may provide the same headache relief without the codeine. Thanks for trusting HealthTap!
