Single dose: The typical treatment is a single dose of 1 gram of Azithromycin (2 tablets). Your doctor may have some other reason for giving you more. You should contact your doctor or pharmacy to get the instructions.

Gonorrhea: Uncomplicated gonorrhea can be treated with a single dose of one gram of azithromycin. If you were given two grams, then perhaps you had a more complicated condition. It would not hurt to take one gram a day for two days. Make sure you are checked for other stds, particularly syphilis and hiv, because people with one std often have more than one.
