No: Fiber may improve passage of stool if near obstruction but should not change caliber. Reduction in caliber is due to near obstructing lesion changing stool. Fiber will make stool softer and easier to pass because of texture but caliber should not change.

Not connected: Fiber can increase the bulk of the stool no matter what else is going on. If cancer is present in the colon and is causing narrowing of the stool or other changes, high fiber diet may accentuate some of those changes, but not directly due to the cancer.
