Yes, this is true: Arthritis tries to stiffen and weaken the knee. If you can fight this off, you will tolerate the arthritis better. Low impact regular exercise and stretching maintain a happy joint.

In general yes: As long as you move in moderation movement is actually good for your joints. The rusty wheel that you keep moving doesnt stiffen up...
