Possible wart: Sounds like a wart (plantar wart). Most common warts on the feet will present as round, tender with compression of the surrounding skin and may have small, black dots (actually small blood vessels). These are generally benign, but should be evaluated by a doctor before treatment in case it is some other skin lesion.

May be bone but: It is common to have a skin growth on any number of toes. This includes warts or callouses, however a growth deep to the skin may be more deserving of investigation. "a growth round in nature under my skin, " could be either soft tissue in nature, or bone. Please consult your local podiatrist who will begin with x-rays.
