Clarify?: Serum calcium may be low for any of several reasons; i'm assuming normal albumin. Hypoparathyroidism and its kin are uncommon but lower the level despite plenty of calcium on board. Vegetarians may and people on other restricted diets may become calcium deficient, and some folks may not be able to absorb it. The physician who diagnosed it can tell you more. Good luck.
