Arguable.: I believe this scare arose in the wake of a german study that found a significantly increased risk of heart attack among women taking calcium supplements, but not among those who got their calcium from food. Thus, calcium from food is better. Supplements are not out of the question. Speak with your doctor to make an informed decision. Best wishes.
