Immune modulation: If your ctd refers to "connective tissue disorder", then your body produces antibodies against your own tissues. Dysautonomia is one possible manifestation of auto-antibodies attacking your autonomic nerves. In that case, Prednisone would suppress the connective tissue disorder's autoimmune attack against your autonomic nerves.
