Adrenal steroids: Medrol (methylprednisolone) and prednisone are glucocorticoid hormone meds and have anti inflammatory actions as well as some salt retaining actions. These mimic cortisol. They elevate glucose and increase appetite. A positive mood is another effect. Florinef mimics aldosterone. It is salt retaining principally. It has no cortisol effects. Does not elevvate mood. Preserves blood volume. Thus supports BP.
