Probably Not: It most likely is not but could be related to other dental issues you have that you do not know about. It could also be from a chronic ear infection or any number of things. If you haven't had your teeth examined recently includeing full mouth x-rays that's a good place to start to see if there are any other issues. You could also start with your general physician or an ent.

They can be related: It all depends on the status of the previously root canal treated tooth. If there is still an infectious process in the tooth socket, then there would certainly be a referred pain extending back into the nerve pathway which , btw, extends past the ear. But, after two years without pain or other symptoms, your body might be telling you that there is 'another' tooth that requires your attention!
