Unsure: First you can get false positives with urine tests so blood tests are always more accurate. Second it is possibler you had an early miscarriage and that explains what happened. If your urine test is still positive after the negative er test i would see your doctor.

Testing technique: If have not missed a period it was too soon to do hpt and you may not have done it correctly. I am inclined to believe the test done in the er. If you miss your period, do hpt 4-5 days after the missed period, using first morning urine and follow the instructions carefully.
