What is indication: Marijuana is against the law, so not to be used. Alcohol no more than 1-2 4 oz glasses per day after work if not going to drive.

It Depends: The answer to your question depends upon the diagnosis/dz we are treating:
1) during my residency training, i learned how to administer an alcohol drip in order to avoid dt's in an alcoholic who was recently admitted to our service.
2) in my state, mj carries a medical indication for use in pain management. Recently my state, colorado, enacted laws that include recreational use of mj.
