Yes and No: You can continue day to day activities, even some more physical activities, if you remember certain guidelines. First of all, stretching is very important. This starts first thing in the morning and continuously throughout the day. Arch spports are necessary when on your feet. Supportive shoes, inserts, or better yet, orthotics, need to be worn all day long. This means avoid going barefoot.

What treatment...: ...Are you currently exploring? If you are going the antiinflammatory route, with cortisone injections and oral drugs like ibuprofen, then you want to rest as much as possible. If you're doing physical therapy and eswt, those work with your inflammation processes, and you can continue to be active during treatment.

Usually not: Plantar fasciitis can be painful, but normal ambulatory activities and stretching exercises are usually beneficial. Like my colleague above stated, it depends on your specific circumstance and treatment modality, so talk to your podiatrist/orthopedist for specific guidelines.
