I have a small, soft bump below my ankle. no pain, squishes if pressure is on it. can't see it unless skin is pulled tight over it.

Fat protrusion: Fatty tissue is protruding from under a ligament or muscle tendon. You may have a partial tear of ligaments or tendons in that area or a separation of soft tissue planes. Did you ever sprain that ankle.

Could be a ganglion: But, could is not good enough. The lesion should be biopsied for definitive diagnosis.
