Stressors: Having a baby is a joy for most but is also very stressful. That baby is dependent on you 24/7. You are likely not able to sleep through the night, go running when you hear the baby peep & consistently put the baby's needs before your own. This type of stress and sleep deprivation can cause issues with intermediate memory. I certainly experienced it with each of my children as newborns.

Sleeping enough?: Forgetfulness is common amongst new moms. Typical reasons include sleeplessness [for example due to breast feeding or a baby that doesn't sleep through the night], stress from the additional responsibilities of motherhood, conflicts with your spouse [parenthood is a change for the dad and this can put stress on a relationship], or stress from balancing work/parenthood. Hope this answer helps.
