A member asked:

After a stroke would an eldery woman recover movement on the right side of her body?

Quite possible : The older the patient, depending on other health conditions, the better the chances of recovering at least some function. Younger patients tend to have larger, more devastating strokes.

Depends: Age is really not the factor here. The recovery of motor function after a stroke takes about 6 months in most cases. Those that find motor function returning early within the first few weeks after a stroke usually go on to the best recovery. Those who have no movement after a few weeks will typically have slower and less complete return of motor function.
