Try cutting the nail: Short and daily application of an antifungal medication. Solutions are preferred as they can get under the nail more readily.

Vicks Vapo Rub: I have had good luck with good old Vicks applied to the nail on a daily basis. I agree with dr. Kass to shorten the nail and then use the Vicks on the nail to help kill the fungus. There are many other antifungals that can be used but most people have Vicks at home already. Be consistent as it may take 1 year to kill the fungus.
