Belly button trouble: You can clean the belly button area with rubbing alcohol with a gauze pad or a q-tip. If there is a foul smell to the area or discharge from the area, you should bring the baby to a pediatrician. The area could be infected or the baby may have an umbilical granuloma which is easily treated at the pediatrician's office.
