Usually in 1-2 days.: Most scratches in the eye is to the cornea. It is very sensitive and thus painful. Fortunately, they tend to heal very fast. Most within a day and definitely by two days. As it heals, your pain will subside. During this period, it is important to use antibiotic drops to prevent infection of the eye. Band aid contact lens is to minimize the pain. It should be removed in a day or two.

Few days to weeks: Most often, abrasions will heal in 2-7 days depending on the age of the patient, size of the abrasion, and mechanism of how the abrasion occurred.
