Dr. can review chart: Most people reach their maximum height in their late teens. Without nutritional problems or chronic childhood illnesses, height is largely based on genetics and parental heights. Aside from eating right, exercising, sleeping well, and being happy, there's not much a person nor his doctor can do to increase height. In rare cases, growth hormone is approved for use in younger, extremely short kids.

Unlikely to happen: By 16 most girls are at the end of their linear growth & their growth centers are closing. Your sister is likely to grow only 5-6 cm after starting her periods. If delayed, there may be more time, but if this happened at the normal time she's likely near the end of her growth.An xray of her hand can tell if her growth centers still show more potential.
