A member asked:

I have had a cold i now have a rattly chest can't stop coughing finding it difficult to control my asthma do i have a chest infection?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Perhaps: When you have asthma upper respiratory infections like a cold can often trigger asthma symptoms. Colds also sometimes lead to pneumonia or bronchitis. Asthma makes you more susceptible to pneumonia. So you may have either or both. It's time to see your health care provider for an examination and perhaps a chest x-ray. Please see one in the next 24 hours.
