Unchanged-good!: There are many causes for pain that is unilateral and in the posterior-upper back. Subscapular bursitis is quite common; surascapular palsy is another, and there are more. You need to see a doctor who specializes in pain diagnosis; physical medicine specialist or a rheumatology specialist, or an orthopedic surgeon. I believe the root causes will be determined more quickly.
