About 1 week: The half life of sertraline is 26 hours (ie 1/2 of it is metabolized every 26 hours). After 5 half lives the amount left is negligible, but metabolism varies from one person to another and depends on amount and how long you have taken it. I would recommend taking 50 mg/ d for about a week rather than 100 every other day. You should talk to your prescribing doctor about why you are tapering.
