CYP3A4 Inhibitor: Sertraline can inhibit cyp3a4 (a liver enzyme) which substrates some steroids used in epidurals (e.g.Dexamethasone).The combination can cause an increase in steroid serum concentration, which can in turn explain the adverse effects you experienced. On the other hand, certain individuals will experience similar symptoms with or without sertraline.

Side effects: Epidural steroid injections are very safe procedures but there are some common side effects that many patients experience. Steroid medications may cause change in mood as well as sleep disturbance, which is probably what you mean by "wired." over time, these symptoms should improve.

Common: Steroid medications whether taken orally or like you had as an injection can cause the side effects you've had. Common side effects include insomnia, increased energy (feeling wired), weight gain due to eating more, weight gain from water retention, increased blood glucose, raise blood pressure, cause GI upset.
