It's possible: Have another xray taken. Or the pain could just be from bruised bone, tendonitis, arthritis, nerve inflammation. Take some anti-inflammatory-ibuprofen(if you have no allergy) and go see your dr. Take care!

Yes: Yes, it is entirely possible, but it seems more likely that the pain you are having underneath your ankle is coming from the jones fracture itself, which is a fracture of the proximal fifth metatarsal. Thank you for your question. Usually a good exam and xray can determine the cause.
