Should not.: Thalassemia minor should be detected on a blood count, but not symptomatic. Therefore, it should not affect your boxing career. The cure for thalassemia is bone marrow transplant - but this is not recommended for thalassemia minor.

You're fine: I'm a ringside physician and want to reassure you. This isn't something you need to treat, or can treat. It's a minor genetic variant. It won't affect your boxing. If you plan to marry and raise a family, be sure to know what can happen if you marry another person with your type of thal minor.
