Always check: What ever you use, make sure that you do a patch test before using it on the baby. Make sure your baby is not allergic to it before you use it. If your baby has hives already you might want to consult with the pediatrician before using a new product. Good luck!

It would be very unusual for a baby this age to have hives. I would check with your pediatrician.

Please avoid lotions: A 6 wk old will often go through transient baby acne & skin irritation primarily aggravated by frequent washing and or lotion use. Lotions attract dust & sour quickly in infants leading to more washing & more irritation.Consider stopping all efforts for a week & see if it improves.Talk with your doc about minimal efforts. The rashes naturally improve without rx over time.

Avoid soap on face: The hives reaction indicates a possible allergic reaction. Avoid fragrances, oils and soap on the face. Avoid over bathing at this age. A bath 3 times per week with a gentle baby wash may be used. The reason for the hives should be identified. Please follow up with our Pediatrician.
