Second opinion : I assume you are interested in permanent birth control like essure or tubal ligation. Different doctors have different views. Many doctors would feel comfortable doing this procedure as you are an adult.

Find a new obgyn: 34 years of age is mature enough to have considered whether to have children. If your doctor won't agree to the procedure, i would suggest seeking another opinion. I don't think you would have trouble finding a gynecologist who would consider offering you the procedure you request.
