Easy on salt: Much "dietary advice" is made up or the product of overactive imaginations, but i trust that the mother-to-be will get sufficient protein and iron, supplementing with vitamins hopefully, and will avoid taking a lot of salt.

Foods: Avoid deli meats & imported soft cheeses (listeria), raw meat (steak tartar), raw fish(sushi), raw shellfish, things made with raw eggs (salmonella), pate & refrigerated smoke seafood that is not subsequently cooked. Avoid alcohol & caffeinated beverages. Avoid mecury. Fish with very high potential mercury levels: shark, swordfish, marlin, king mackerel, big eye & ahi tuna & orange roughy. See v.
