No cure: Unfortunately there is no cure for pcos. However, medications can be used to control the symptoms. See your gynecologist or a reproductive endocrinologist for management of your symptoms.

Unknown: There is no specific reason known that accounts for cases of pcos. And there is no specific treatment to resolve it. Weight loss is effective for those with pcos that are overweight - but not for those who are not overweight. Surgery (wedge resection of the ovaries) is effective but only in the short tern as pcos will recur in most of those treated with surgery.
