Not allergies: Environmental and food allergies do not lead to lymph node swelling. Rarely, drug allergic reactions can have lymph node swelling. Usually lymph node swelling is related to an infection. The CBC may be normal or show signs of an infection. Occasionally a biopsy of the lymph node is necessary to determine the cause.
