Perhaps: Yes it could be a skin tag, or a benign growth or a variation of normal anatomy. Why don't you see a dentist so you know for sure? It's important to get routine dental check-ups and soft tissue cancer screenings anyway.

Lesion under tongue: There are any number of possibilities. This is something you need to have your dentist see and evaluate, and possibly biopsy.

Possibly normal: It could be normal anatomy, and may have just noticed it. Especially if it looks normal in color, is not painful, not growing, and near the midline of your mouth. The whartons duct, which is a salivary gland duct will have appear as a raised tissue or "skin tag." there are also a number of minor salivary glands in the same area. There are other possibilities, see a dr to confirm it is nothing bad.

Could be many things: Such growths in the mouth are quite common. It could simply be a bit of extra tissue as you indicated. Two other common diagnoses for such growths are fibroma and papilloma. A fibroma is made up of benign reactive scar like tissue, often to chronic irritation. Papilloma is caused by various viruses similar to what causes skin warts. Other possibilities..Only removal/ biopsy can diagnose for sure.
