Low vitamin D3: There may be a group of patients who do not absorb vitamin d3 efficiently. They seem to require higher doses of d3 ( 6000 to 10000 units daily) to achieve adequate blood levels, (between 40 and 70). Don't give up, stay on your vitamin d3 and get annual blood level. Your gallbladder surgery is likely unrelated.
