Sometimes: Chest pain can be caused by coronary vasospasm decreasing the blood flow to the heart. High choleserol and LDL can cause atherosclerosis which can make this worse and subsequently stop the flow of blood to the heart causing pain or cardiac arrest. Hdl is considered cardioprotective.

It is also greatly affected by smoking, high blood pressure, diabetes, and genetic factors. When a coronary artery becomes completely occluded, the chest pain of a heart attack occurs. Bad= ldl, good= hdl. High triglycerides also increases heart risks.
