A member asked:

I met with accident & got ' wedge compression fracture to l1 vertebra' what is the treatement given in such cases i have been advised only bed rest?

No: That is bad advice. You should not be confined to bed - you will become weak and the healing will be affected. First, find a new doctor. Second, ask about physical therapy or kyphoplasty (a fairly quick surgical procedure). Depending on the severity, one or the other may be indicated.
