A member asked:

Global muscle wasting condition has resolved. what are the chances that i can redevelop calf strength to restore my arches which went flat?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Probably pretty good: Depends on the cause of the muscle wasting but assuming you are recovered you should be able to build back strength. Specifically the muscle that supports your arch is the tibialis posterior whcih lies adjacent to your medial tibia. A good way to strengthen that muscle is to stand with the ball of your foot on a step and your heels down then step up on your toes pulling your heels together.
