It depends: Testing for allergy to medications is indicated only if you had a reaction to a drug in the past and it is important to find out if you are really allergic or you need to be treated with it again. There is no good blood test, usually a skin test is performed. In most cases, administering the drug in a controlled manner in clinic is necessary. If you were allergic to cats in the pat, you sill are.
