Use non-narcotic med: Familial mediteranian fever is an unusual cause of periodic abdomenal pain. The main problem is narcotic addiction from frequent hospital stays. The trick is to stay out of the hospital and treat the pain with ibuprofin or similar non-nacrotic medications since you already know the diagnosis.
