Is it common to have a sore stomach after strong headache medication?

Medicine cause pain?: Yes. Some medications that are Aspirin based or anti-inflammatories such as Ibuprofen and advil (ibuprofen) can cause irritation to the lining of the stomach. And, this irritation can cause bleeding and/ or pain. If the pain is severe please contact your health care provider to determine if your medicine has caused anything more serious. And, you may need to find a different medicine for treating headaches.
