Dr prescription famciclovir & mupirocin. culture shows negative 4 staph. i've been putting this in my nose per doc but it specifically says not to. is it ok to?

The package insert describes the fact that they were not used on mucous membranes in the fda testing. If you have had no irritation, the short term used for a week should be fine. Stop its use if any irritation develops. Return to your prescribing physician for followup in a wee.
