A member asked:

Why do people have different side effects from the same medications? is it genes?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Complicated.: It all does come down to how you are put together. Drug breakdown in body is very complicated. Some people metabolize drugs quickly and others not at all. Some meds and foods interfere with breakdown. Some drug breakdown products are more active than the parent compounds. Some compounds are not eliminated well and others are excreted readily.... All based on your unique chemistry.
