A member asked:

I always have the "rare side effects" of any medication prescribed for me-gotten to be predictable- what's wrong with me? genes? liver?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Nocebo effect.: Nothing. There is no plausible physiologic explanation for such a phenomena. Rare side effects are generally statistically independent events ( unless of course, the side effects are from medications in the same class). Having a rare side effect from more than a few meds has vanishingly low probability.
