White hair: If your mother or father's hair turned white at an early age, you may be genetically programmed for premature graying. Your genes determine when production of melanin stops, and your dna may destine you to platinum hair at an early age. Other causes include stress and thyroid disease. See your doctor and get blood work.

Grey Hair Young Age: I find it very common to have grey hair, at young age in america. At age 26, when i moved to usa, within a year, i started to notice grey hair. Why it is ? Is this the water, chemicals, stress, life style, i guess i came up with. Not an answer on medical facts but practical experience. My age group in india, still have thick dark black hair !

Can be normal: That rate that your hair produces pigment is governed by genetics. So you can turn white or gray (no or less pigment) at a preprogrammed time in your life. The thickness of your hair is governed genetically as well. The two traits are separtely inherited. Rarely a medical condition may cause hair thinning. Check with your doctor to see if you have other findings suggestive of hypothyroidism, eg.

Gray Hair: One of the easiest causes of premature gray hair to address is daily diet. Deficiencies in specific vitamins and minerals may cause hair to turn gray. Diets lacking in biotin and folic acid, part of the b vitamin complex, can be a direct cause of gray hair. Copper deficiency can also cause gray hair. Genetics can also cause gray hair. Dye your hair is your only real option.
