No test is perfect: Of course, a "false negative" result occurs with all testing. There are many ways to test for h.Pylori so if you have risk factors, exposures, or high suspicion of infection get a confirmatory study. However, empiric antibiotic treatment based solely on your concern is probably not yet reasonable.
