Enlarging uterus: A bigger uterus may cause pain especially with baby kicking and moving. A twin uterus is naturally bigger than otherwise. Large uterus causes pressure on leg veins thereby decreasing blood return upwards to the heart. This causes leg swelling. It is very important to keep routine f/u with obstetrician and to update him/her on any complaints to rule out the chances of kidney disease of pregnancy.

Support hose: The fetus can caused decreased venous return leading to lower limb swelling. Elevation of the feet above the heart and use of support hose (20-30mmhg) should help.
