See below.: Tourette syndrome is characterized by chronic motor and vocal tics beginning before adulthood. People with tourette's typically have repetitive, stereotyped movements or vocalizations, such as blinking, sniffing, facial movements, or tensing of muscle groups. Patients can also have adhd, obsessive-compulsive disorder, poor impulse control, and other behavioral issues. Symptoms can vary over time.

Tourette's signs: Tourette's is somewhat common in kids and usually starts to show itself in the 5 to 7 year old age group. Tics can occur in many forms such as vocalizations or motor movements. The shouting out of obscenities, or coprolalia, is quite rare. The patient may have an 'urge' just before the tic behavior comes out. Fortunately after adolescence most of these problems fade away.
