My fiance has tourettes syndrome. what is this?

Tourette Syndrome is: a neurological condition which is inheritable, although specific genetic mutations have not been found. It is characterized by chronic motor tics, repetitive, stereotypical, non-functional movements that can be simple or complex & at least one vocal tic, repetitive sounds or words.
