A member asked:

What do you do when rocephin (ceftriaxone) doesn't treat a sinus infection. daughter is 3 years old and has been on 5 antibiotics to treat this.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Other docs: Rocephin (ceftriaxone) is a very powerful antibiotic & if that hasn't helped your daughter, i would recommend you see 2 specific docs: 1. Infectious disease doc may help diagnose any immune system problems or rare bacteria; 2. Ent doc can evaluate her throat, nose and sinuses to determine if there is an anatomical reason for her recurrent sinus infections. She might need a ct scan and a culture too.
